BUYER'S GUIDE
Gold bars vs coins: what to compare
Bars and coins are two forms of physical gold. Compare specific products with the same fine-gold content and delivery terms. Physical size, a coin's face value or the lowest total ticket price alone will not give you that comparison.

Start with weight and fineness
Record the manufacturer, product reference, weight and fineness from the offer. For coins, distinguish troy ounces (oz) from grams. A 1/10 oz coin has one tenth the weight of the corresponding 1 oz coin; the label does not describe its diameter.
The AURELIS catalogue lets you compare 20, 50, 100 and 250 g bars with Pressburg Mint PAX 2026 coins in 1/10 oz and 1 oz formats. The coin specifications are on each product page. Ask for confirmation of the bar manufacturer and supplied documentation in your offer.
The selling price is more than a market quote
The World Gold Council describes a purchase premium that can cover costs such as manufacturing and transport. Product size and form can therefore affect the price for the same quantity of gold. To compare offers, divide the confirmed total price by the fine-gold content in grams and check additional charges separately.
Delivery belongs in the comparison
An offer for immediate handover is not directly comparable to a 12- or 24-month order. For deferred delivery, check the handover date, when and how the price is confirmed, payment, documents and the process for changing an order. AURELIS deferred delivery programmes apply to gold; their terms are explained on a separate page.

Before sending an enquiry
- Do I have the exact product reference, weight and fineness?
- Does the offer state the final price, charges and delivery date?
- Do I know which documents I will receive and how handover will work?
